On March 11 and 13, 2026, our team gathered in Vancouver on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations for our third 7-Directions Summit.
The gathering brought together people with lived and living experience, along with members from community and different healthcare fields. The participants were invited to share their perspectives and help guide the future of brain-heart health research and regenerative healing (also known as regenerative medicine). Our partners from the Brain-Heart Interconnectome (BHI) and the Canadian Heart Function Alliance were also able to join us.
An arts-based activity facilitated by Pewaseskwan team members Candice Norris and Michelle Paquette offered a meaningful way for participants to reflect on their own journey while engaging in discussions around brain-heart health and regenerative healing. Many connections, ideas and experiences were shared throughout the two days.
